Stephen Kimber, the Rogers Communications Chair in Journalism at the University of King's College, is the author of one novel and seven books of nonfiction, including Loyalists and Layabouts: The Rapid Rise and Faster Fall of Shelburne, 1783-1792. An award-winning writer, journalist and broadcaster as well as a former Director of the King's School of Journalism, he is currently at work on an update of Thomas Raddall's classic Halifax: Warden of the North, which will be published by Nimbus in 2010. He holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College in Baltimore. He lives with his wife Jeanie in Halifax.
